Eco-Build — Multilingual WordPress Website with a Custom Theme and Gutenberg Widgets

For Eco-Build, I developed a website on WordPress for a construction/development company.
The solution is built on a custom theme plus a separate plugin with Gutenberg widgets, which allowed me to implement the design accurately and make content management convenient for the admin team.

What was delivered

1) Custom WordPress Theme

  • A standalone theme with a clean, project-specific architecture
  • Admin settings for contacts, social links, header, and footer

2) Gutenberg Widgets/Blocks Plugin (design implementation)
I created a custom plugin that adds a set of Gutenberg widgets/blocks to build pages without code edits, including:

  • Latest Works widget
  • Completed Projects widget
  • Started Projects widget
  • Custom Gallery
  • Blog
  • FAQ (Questions & Answers) widget

3) Multilingual setup and custom fields

  • The website is multilingual, implemented with Polylang
  • Carbon Fields is used for flexible custom fields and admin-controlled content settings

Result

The project provides a manageable admin experience and a flexible content structure: the administrator can easily update contact details, site sections, blog content, and page blocks, while the frontend design is assembled using custom Gutenberg widgets aligned with the original design.
